Revelation 7:1-8 ”144,000 Are Sealed By The Living God”

In today's episode we look at the first half of Revelation 7.  This chapter serves as an interlude between the 6th and 7th seal judgments.  We are told that God is going to seal 144,000 for a special purpose.  What is the significance of this sealing?  Who are the sealed?  We will attempt to answer those today.  Join us with an open Bible! 

Luke 7:11-17 ”A Mother’s Miracle”

In today's episode we see one of 3 times in the New Testament that Jesus raises someone from the dead.   In this instance, there is a widow woman who has lost her only son.  There are two large crowds-one heading for the cemetery and another heading for the city.  Two only sons will meet; one alive and destined to die- and another dead and destined to live again!  Two sufferers meet and two enemies meet at the city gate.   Jesus shows Himself to be the LORD over life and death! 

Revelation 6: ”The Wrath of The Lamb”

In today's episode we continue our study of the Book of Revelation.   Chapter 6 begins with The Lamb (Jesus Christ) opening the seals from the 7-sealed scroll.  The first four seals have accompanying "horsemen" denoting false Christs, war, famine & hyperinflation, and pestilence.   The next (5th) seal deals with the cry of the martyrs of Jesus.   We conclude with the 6th seal, which includes cosmic signs of unprecedented proportions.   Even those who do not believe in God will then declare that the "wrath of The Lamb" has come! 

Daniel’s 70th Week

In Daniel 9, the angel Gabriel gave the prophet Daniel one of the most breathtaking and profound prophecies in all of God's Word.   In a few brief verses he outlines the time when Messiah (Jesus Christ) will come the first time and be rejected/crucified.  He then talks about a future time when another "prince" (Antichrist) will come and briefly outlines his 7-year career.    Failure to understand this prophecy leads to all kinds of eschatological confusion.

 

Revelation 5: ”Worthy is The Lamb”

In chapter 4 of Revelation the emphasis is on the Father and His worthiness as Creator of the universe.  In chapter 5, the Heavenly scene focuses praise to The Lamb of God who is the only one worthy to open the 7-sealed scroll that contains the future of the world.  This Lamb who was slain is now standing alive forevermore with all power in Heaven and in the Earth.  The 24 elders sing a marvelous song of their own redemption and future as kings and priests who will soon reign on the Earth.

Revelation 4: ”The Throne Room of God”

In today's episode we look at the events taking place in Heaven prior to the opening of the 7 sealed scroll in chapter 6.  The prominent theme is the throne.   There is One sitting on the Throne whose beauty is beyond compare.  There are also a cast of characters including 4 living creatures and 24 elders.   All who are there give glory and honor and praise to the Father for His role in Creation. 

Luke 23:44-46 ”When Hell Came to Calvary”

Today we look at two of the miracles that took place when Jesus died on the Cross.  There was a darkness that covered the earth for 3 hours.  What took place in those three hours?  After they were over, another miracle took place- the curtain in the temple was torn from the top to the bottom.   What did that signify?  And what about the final words of Jesus from the Cross?  Join us today as we look at 3 hours when "hell came to Calvary". 

Revelation 3:14-22 ”The Church of the Laodiceans”

In today's study, we look at the last of the 7 letters to the Churches in Asian Minor.  Laodicea was a wealthy city known for it's banking, shiny black wool, and eye-salve.   It had one major problem- an inadequate water supply.   Aqueducts carried cold water from Colossae and hot water from the springs of Hierapolis.   By the time it arrived in Laodicea, the water was lukewarm and very distasteful.   Jesus addresses this final church as being "lukewarm" and He's ready to spit them out of His mouth.  But the situation is not beyond repair, if they will simply be zealous and repent. 

Revelation 3:1-6 ”The Church of Sardis”

In today's episode, we look at the Church of Sardis.  Unlike the others, Jesus has no commendation for this assembly.   By this time Sardis had ceased to be an important city- its greatness lay in the distant past.   They were still living off of the "name" of their previous status.   Likewise, the church there had a "name" that they were living, but Jesus says they are dead.   There is hope, but time is running out.  Would they hear what the Spirit was saying to their church?  Do we hear Him today? 

Revelation 2:18-29 ”The Church of Thyatira” (Part 2)

In today's episode we review some of the high points of our study in Revelation thus far.  Concluding the letter to Thyatira, we see the serious consequences for the idolatry and immorality of Jezebel and her followers.
