Genesis 8 records the receding of the Flood waters and the Ark coming to rest on the mountains of Ararat. God promised Noah that He was going to establish His covenant with him and thus the chapter begins with God "remembering" Noah. God always keeps His promises. He kept Noah, his family, and the animals safe during the horrific ordeal of the Flood. When Noah finally leaves the Ark, he "remembers" the LORD and offers a tremendous sacrifice.
