Joshua 2: ”Christmas in Jericho”

As Joshua plans to enter and possess the land given to them by the LORD, he first sends out two spies to assess the situation.   The Providence of God leads the spies to the house of a harlot named Rahab.   This Canaanite prostitute will go from the "hall of shame" to the "hall of faith".  Join us for today's episode as we explore the faith of Rahab.

2 Samuel 12: ”I am the Man”

In today's message we follow up to David's adultery with Bathsheba and subsequent murder of her husband Uriah.  The LORD sends Nathan the prophet to confront David with his sin and inform him of the dire consequences of his actions.   David finds grace and forgiveness upon his true contrition and confession of sin.  There will be however, many sorrows that will befall David and his family in the coming days, weeks, and years.  Let us learn from this example! 

2 Samuel 11: ”The Giant David Could Not Kill”

In today's episode, we revisit this all-too-familiar story about King David.  At the time that kings go out to battle, David remains at home.  From his rooftop he sees the beautiful woman Bathsheba.  He wants her for himself...but she is married to one of his mighty men, Uriah.  David will make a series of choices with irreversible consequences.   May we learn from his example today.  We are reminded of Paul's words to the Corinthians:  "1Co 10:12  Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. " (KJV)

Matthew 13: ”The Parable of the Sower and the Soils”

In today's episode we look at the "parable of parables".   We often wonder why see such negative or little response when we share the Word.  Jesus helps us to understand that the different soils in the parable represent the different kinds of heart response to the Gospel.  We also see that not everyone who immediately responds with joy will persevere to the end.

Ruth 4: 9-22 ”Better Than Seven Sons”

As we conclude our study of the book of Ruth, we see the progression of our characters.  Ruth has gone from outsider.... to ancestor of the Messiah!  We also see a dramatic role of reversal for Naomi.  She goes from "bitter" to "blessed".  We often speak of the love story between Ruth and Boaz, but here we see the love story between Naomi and Jehovah!   Boaz has fulfilled all the obligations of the "Go'el" (Kinsman Redeemer).   He is a type of the Ultimate Kinsman Redeemer...the LORD Jesus Christ!  

Ruth 4: ”Boaz in the City Gate”

As our story nears conclusion, Naomi and Ruth eagerly await Boaz' next move.  As Naomi predicted, Boaz wastes no time heading to the gate of the city to finish the matter.   There is a nearer kinsman (Go'el) than Boaz.  Will he exercise his right to redeem Naomi's property and marry Ruth?  Join us today for the dramatic narrative from God's Word. 

Ruth Chapter 2: ”Bitterness to Betterness”

In today's episode we see the clouds beginning to part in Ruth and Naomi's story.  We are introduced to the "Goel" (Kinsmen Redeemer) Boaz who shows kindness to Ruth and Naomi.  As Ruth gleans to feed herself and her mother-in-law she finds favor from God.  Boaz leaves her "handfuls on purpose" and we sense that even greater blessings are on the horizon.

In this dramatic narrative, Ruth follows Naomi's instructions to meet Boaz at the threshing floor.  Join us as we discover wonderful truths from this beautiful love story.

We begin our study in the little book of Ruth.  Our story begins with 3 funerals and a famine in the land of Bethlehem (the "house of bread").
