"When God Comes To Church (Part 2)" / Luke 4:22-44

After preaching in His home town of Nazareth, he received a less than favorable response.  Next, Jesus goes to Capernaum where He would have a powerful and fruitful ministry.   They beg Him to stay, but He will not be deterred from the mission at hand. 

"When God Comes To Church (Part One)" / Luke 4:14-21

Jesus came to Nazareth and taught in his home synagogue.   He announced to them that day that the prophecies about the Messiah had finally come true.  He came to heal the brokenhearted, bring recovery of sight to the blind, and release the captives.  Do you need a breakthrough today? 

"He Is Able" (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Paul ends his prayer in Ephesians 3 with a powerful benediction and statement of faith.  No matter the circumstances or obstacles, God is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think according to His Holy Spirit's power at work within us! 

"1 Thing I Cannot Take Into The New Year" (Matt 18:21-35)

In this parable, Jesus gives us a proper understanding and perspective of forgiveness.  If we having been forgiven such a great debt, refuse to forgive others,  we will become prisoners of our own choosing.   Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling.   To choose otherwise, is to invite torment. 

"They Walked With Him No More" (John 6:60-71)

In the final part of the "Bread of Life" discourse, we see a massive defection by the crowds following Jesus.  Like the ones mentioned in Luke 8:13, they believe "for a while" but in time of testing they fall away.   The true believers however, remained.

"There's Hope For You and Me" (Matt 1:1-17)

Most of us skip over the genealogies of the Bible.  But to do so, is to miss an opportunity to see God's grace at work.  In Matthew's Gospel, the ancestors of the Lord Jesus Christ are revealed, and they are anything but perfect.  God uses ordinary people like us to accomplish His purposes! 

"Recipe For A Happy Thanksgiving" (I Thess 5:16-18)

The holidays can be depressing for many, but the apostle Paul gives us the recipe for a Happy Thanksgiving and all throughout the year.  God's will is that we rejoice, pray continually, and give thanks in every circumstance we may find ourselves in.   

"No Man Can Come To Me Unless The Father Draws him" (John 6:37-47)

Jesus continues His sermon on "The Bread of Life".   The hungry crowds struggle with Jesus' remarks that He "came down from Heaven" because they were too familiar with Him.   He remarked that the only way a man can believe is if God reveals the Son to him.  

"All That The Father Gives Me Shall Come To Me" (John 6:30-37)

Following the feeding of the 5k men, the hungry crowds seek to make Jesus a king and ask Him to perform a sign.   Jesus refused, and instead reveals Himself as "The Bread of Life" that came down from Heaven to give them eternal life, not merely temporal blessings. 

"Water Walkers" (Matthew 14:22-33)

Immediately after Jesus fed the multitudes with loaves and fishes,  He sent the crowds away and sent the disciples into a storm.  After praying to the Father, Jesus walks on the water for miles to meet the frightened Apostles.  He comforts them, calms the storm and Peter also walks on the water.
