In this parable, Jesus gives us a proper understanding and perspective of forgiveness. If we having been forgiven such a great debt, refuse to forgive others, we will become prisoners of our own choosing. Forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling. To choose otherwise, is to invite torment.

In the final part of the "Bread of Life" discourse, we see a massive defection by the crowds following Jesus. Like the ones mentioned in Luke 8:13, they believe "for a while" but in time of testing they fall away. The true believers however, remained.

Following the feeding of the 5k men, the hungry crowds seek to make Jesus a king and ask Him to perform a sign. Jesus refused, and instead reveals Himself as "The Bread of Life" that came down from Heaven to give them eternal life, not merely temporal blessings.

Immediately after Jesus fed the multitudes with loaves and fishes, He sent the crowds away and sent the disciples into a storm. After praying to the Father, Jesus walks on the water for miles to meet the frightened Apostles. He comforts them, calms the storm and Peter also walks on the water.

This account usually referred to as "The Feeding of the 5000" (actually probably more like 20k) is the only miracle (other than the Resurrection) included in all four Gospels. We see Jesus creating something from nothing as only God can do. This miracle should encourage every believer.

The Passover pilgrims thought Jesus' entry into Jerusalem meant the Kingdom was about to begin. Instead, Jesus tells a parable explaining that the King would go away to receive the Kingdom and come again to reckon with his servants. We are to be faithful until that Day arrives.

In our "People to Meet, Lessons to Learn" conclusion, we meet Zacchaeus, the chief among the tax collectors. As such, he was despised by the majority of Israel, especially the religious elite. But Jesus demonstrates once again, that He came to seek and to save that which was lost.
