James 3:1-12 "Loose Lips Sink Ships"

Borrowing the slogan from the WWII propaganda posters, we look at James' warnings regarding the power of the tongue.  Though the tongue is a small member of the body, it can produce disproportionate (and devastating) consequences.  This is one area we must constantly be on guard.  

Genesis 41: "From the Pit to the Palace"

After two full years of being forgotten (by man, not by God),  Joseph is summoned to interpret two disturbing dreams of the Pharaoh.  These dreams reveal that there will be 7 years of plenty, and 7 years of famine in the land of Egypt.   Joseph reminds Pharaoh that the interpretations belong to God and that God has shown him (Pharaoh) what HE is about to do.  God gives Joseph a strategy to survive the coming famine.   What a difference a day makes!!!  Joseph goes from being a prisoner in the dungeon, to being the Prime Minister of Egypt- second only to Pharaoh.  Join us for this dramatic narrative in God's Word! 

Genesis 40: "Tell Me Your Dreams"

Joseph is now 28 years old and in the royal prison of Pharaoh.  Two notable prisoners will join him,   They are the chief butler and chief baker.  We are not certain what they did to offend the king of Egypt, but in the providence of God they end up in the same prison as Joseph.  In the process of time, they each have dreams about their futures.  Joseph declared that the interpretations belong to God alone and went on to interpret the dreams respectively.  One prisoner would be released, and the other executed.  Joseph pleads with the pardoned prisoner to remember him, to no avail. 

Genesis 39: "The LORD Was With Joseph"

The narrative begins with Joseph as a slave in Potiphar's house.  Instead of finding him bitter and despondent, we see him working diligently for his master.  We are told numerous times that "The LORD was with Joseph".  This was the secret to his success!   His promotion in Potiphar's house was not to last, however.   He would face a huge temptation.  He refused to entertain the temptation and was wrongly accused.   Our story ends today with Joseph in prison.  But all is not lost, for we are told "The LORD was with Joseph" even there! 

Genesis 37:25-36 "Perception Versus Reality"

In today's episode, we continue in the story of Jacob/Joseph.  While Joseph is in the pit, his brothers' lunch is interrupted by a caravan of Midianites carrying spices on the way to Egypt.  This provides a unique opportunity for the brothers to get rid of Joseph and make a little money too.   They thought they had aborted Joseph's dreams once and for all.  Jacob perceived that his favored son was dead.  For the next 20 years he would grieve over a lie.  The reality was that Joseph was alive, well, and right where God intended him to be. 

Genesis 37:12-24 "The Death of a Dream?"

We continue in the Genesis narrative concerning Jacob and Joseph.   Joseph goes to find his brothers in Shechem, only to discover they are further north in Dothan.  When he arrives there, a terrible conspiracy unfolds to try and get rid of Joseph.  His brothers intend to rid themselves of Joseph....and his dreams.  But will they succeed?  Tune in with an open Bible and find out! 

Genesis 37:1-11 "Divine Dreams"

In today's episode, we continue studying the life/story of Joseph.  Hated by his half-brothers, but favored by his father (Jacob), Joseph hears from God in a series of dreams.  These dreams give clues as to the future of Joseph and his family.  The hatred of the brothers grows even more with the discovery of Joseph's dreams.  Their envy grows as well.

Genesis 37:1-4 "Diary of a Dysfunctional Family"

In today's episode we look at the beginning of Joseph's story in Genesis.  The last 14 chapters of Genesis are dedicated to the life of this extraordinary young man.  This is all part of the record of Jacob's family.   There are many parallels with Joseph and the life of Christ.  Join us today with an open Bible.  God had a plan for Joseph and the nation of Israel that had many twists and turns.  God has a plan for our lives as well!  We may not always understand the disappointments that come our way.  But we know all things work together for good to those that love God and are called according to His purpose. 

Luke 2:1-7 ”Is There Room In Your Heart For Jesus?”

We look at the birth narrative found in Luke's Gospel.  We discover several important truths:  The Gospel is historical fact.  History is "HIS Story".  God's providence is evident as He gets Mary and Joseph where they need to be to fulfill prophecy.  We see the grace of Jesus as He leaves the glories of Heaven to dwell among the poor and lowly.  Finally, we see the response of men towards Jesus.  Will you make room in your heart for Him today? 

Revelation 22:6-21 ”Behold, I Come Quickly”

Today, we come to the final section of Revelation (better known as The Epilogue).  John is given final instructions and confirmation that the message he has received is faithful and true.  Three times, the Lord Jesus confirms that He is coming quickly!  John is rebuked for falling down before the angel to worship.  He is also warned not to seal the book, but to publish its contents (because the time is imminent).  There is a warning for any who would seek to add to/take away from the contents of the prophecy.  Fittingly, the Bible ends with an invitation to all who would drink from the Water of Life!  Even so, come Lord Jesus!  Amen!
