Genesis 37:25-36 "Perception Versus Reality"

In today's episode, we continue in the story of Jacob/Joseph.  While Joseph is in the pit, his brothers' lunch is interrupted by a caravan of Midianites carrying spices on the way to Egypt.  This provides a unique opportunity for the brothers to get rid of Joseph and make a little money too.   They thought they had aborted Joseph's dreams once and for all.  Jacob perceived that his favored son was dead.  For the next 20 years he would grieve over a lie.  The reality was that Joseph was alive, well, and right where God intended him to be. 

Genesis 37:12-24 "The Death of a Dream?"

We continue in the Genesis narrative concerning Jacob and Joseph.   Joseph goes to find his brothers in Shechem, only to discover they are further north in Dothan.  When he arrives there, a terrible conspiracy unfolds to try and get rid of Joseph.  His brothers intend to rid themselves of Joseph....and his dreams.  But will they succeed?  Tune in with an open Bible and find out! 

Genesis 37:1-11 "Divine Dreams"

In today's episode, we continue studying the life/story of Joseph.  Hated by his half-brothers, but favored by his father (Jacob), Joseph hears from God in a series of dreams.  These dreams give clues as to the future of Joseph and his family.  The hatred of the brothers grows even more with the discovery of Joseph's dreams.  Their envy grows as well.

Genesis 37:1-4 "Diary of a Dysfunctional Family"

In today's episode we look at the beginning of Joseph's story in Genesis.  The last 14 chapters of Genesis are dedicated to the life of this extraordinary young man.  This is all part of the record of Jacob's family.   There are many parallels with Joseph and the life of Christ.  Join us today with an open Bible.  God had a plan for Joseph and the nation of Israel that had many twists and turns.  God has a plan for our lives as well!  We may not always understand the disappointments that come our way.  But we know all things work together for good to those that love God and are called according to His purpose. 

Luke 2:1-7 ”Is There Room In Your Heart For Jesus?”

We look at the birth narrative found in Luke's Gospel.  We discover several important truths:  The Gospel is historical fact.  History is "HIS Story".  God's providence is evident as He gets Mary and Joseph where they need to be to fulfill prophecy.  We see the grace of Jesus as He leaves the glories of Heaven to dwell among the poor and lowly.  Finally, we see the response of men towards Jesus.  Will you make room in your heart for Him today? 

Revelation 22:6-21 ”Behold, I Come Quickly”

Today, we come to the final section of Revelation (better known as The Epilogue).  John is given final instructions and confirmation that the message he has received is faithful and true.  Three times, the Lord Jesus confirms that He is coming quickly!  John is rebuked for falling down before the angel to worship.  He is also warned not to seal the book, but to publish its contents (because the time is imminent).  There is a warning for any who would seek to add to/take away from the contents of the prophecy.  Fittingly, the Bible ends with an invitation to all who would drink from the Water of Life!  Even so, come Lord Jesus!  Amen!

Revelation 21:9-22:5 ”The New Jerusalem”

In today's episode John describes his vision of the Holy City, the New Jerusalem.   An angel gives John the measurements and dimensions of this massive city.  The key feature of this Eternal City is that it has the glory of God!  There is no temple found there because God and the Lamb are the temple!  God's dwelling is now with mankind.   Join us today with an open Bible as we look at this awesome city where the righteous will one day live forever! 

Psalm 103: ”Bless the LORD, O My Soul”

In today's episode we look at Psalm 103.   This Psalm, written by David, encourages all of the universe to praise God for His wonderful acts of mercy towards us.  The psalm has 22 verses- the same number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet.  The covenant name for God (Jehovah) appears half that number of times.  It is an "envelope psalm" - it ends exactly the same way as it begins.  In the original text the verses are all of uniform length and contain two lines each.  This is a perfect song of Thanksgiving- there are no requests or petitions!  Let us reflect along with King David on the tender mercies of the LORD!!! 

Revelation 21:1-8 ”New Heaven and New Earth”

In today's episode, we look at the first 8 verses of Revelation 21.  John receives a vision of the New Heaven and New Earth.  It's remarkable in its brevity and yet breathtaking to even think about.  Because it is so difficult to grasp with finite minds, John describes in terms of what is "not" in the New Heaven and New Earth.  This is the only place in the Word of God where we get a description of the Eternal State. 

Revelation 20:11-15 ”The Great White Throne Judgment”

In today's episode, we look at one of the most awesome and frightful passages in all of God's Word.  John sees the final judgment of all unbelievers.  It will be unlike any judgment the world has ever seen.  Heaven and earth pass away and there is nowhere to hide from a Holy and Righteous God!   Each one will stand before God and receive a fair sentence based on their works.  Those who are not in the Lamb's Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity!
